Details
Submitted by[?]: Dorvische Allianz für Freiheit
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 4206
Description[?]:
Speaker, Current laws state that local government decide on whether libraries should be funded and operated with money of the state. With the current economical climate, we believe that local governments may cut funding for these educational institutions, with possibly disastrous results for students and educators across the country. Libraries are the only place in this country where books are free for anyone, which is why we must protect it for the sake of our country's development. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The government's policy towards the funding of libraries.
Old value:: Funding and operation of libraries is left entirely to local governments.
Current: The national government controls a vast and comprehensive system of public libraries.
Proposed: The national government contracts with private companies to maintain a system of libraries.
