Message | M. Modérateur, The PCL wish to welcome the PFL to l'Assemblée Nationale - it is important that all opinions are heard within this House, regardless of their nature. We believe that this alteration within the legislation should occur. Not because we believe that gambling is correct - in fact the PCL frowns upon the practice - but rather because we believe in giving people the choice to whether they gamble or not. The fact is that it is a person's money, and the decision of what that money should go towards is up to them. Regulating how an individual should spend their money is government infringement to the extreme, and is simply allows the state to control an important part of a person's life - their finances. The current legislation in place prevents gambling to fall uncontrollably out of any regulation, whilst not infringing upon the rights of an individual who wishes to participate within the practice. All the current legislation does is merely restrict where that said individual should conduct such a practice. We thank the Honourable Members for listening to our counter argument, and wish to again welcome the PFL to the House. M. Johannes PCL Spokesman |

Message | M. Modérateur, We understand the more libertarian view of the PCL, but we must disagree and say we view the matter with one distinct difference. We believe it is the responsibility of the government to ensure people do not spend their money of frivolous things like gambling and instead spend it in our economy or on their families. We believe that this would be far more beneficial for our people and their own standard of living. We thank you for welcoming us to the house, and while we may have no seats now, we will work hard to show our policies to the people of Lourenne in future, and look forward to finding common ground. Random fact: Players are expected to behave in a courteous, co-operative manner and make a reasonable effort to act with the consent of all players involved, even where the rules do not make consent strictly necessary. In particular, players have a responsibility to take reasonable care that other players are not misinformed either about the role-play or the Game Rules. |
