Description[?]:
(This bill was proposed by the minister of Education and Culture Rose Davies) We shouldn't tell to the television channels what they can or can't show. People are responsible enough decide by themselves what they want to watch and parents are responsible enough to supervise what their children are whatching. The law of Hutori already state that nudity and sexuality should only be show during hours that very few children are watching so I don't see what it we should keep sexually explicit material banned. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, Minister Davies claims that parents are responsible enough to essentially police their children. However, I would like to ask of Ms. Davies if she has ever had children herself. Because if she has then she would know that what she proposes will make the job of a parent exponentially more difficult. We should not be making it more difficult for parents to raise children but, less difficult. Senator Janet Beckman (F-AD) Federalist Senate Leader |

Message | Mr. Speaker, We will not support this bill. Sexually explicit material has no place on broadcast television. If one desires to view such material, he/she can do so in other mediums, such as network television, films and the internet. It is not fair to parents, nor children, to allow sexually explicit material on the airwaves of our broadcast television stations. This is a vote rooted in common sense and moral principle. - Prime Minister Butch Johnson (Hutori Freedom Party) |

Message | Mr. Speaker, As I have said earlier, law of Hutori already state that nudity and sexuality should only be show during hours that very few children are watching. Which mean that this bill nearly doesn't affect children. And to respond to senator Beckman, yes, I do have children of my own but, I don't let them watche television at 2 am because they are suppose to be sleeping at 2 am like any other children of their age. So no, I don't think this bill will make my parental job more difficult. The thing is, we have no right to tell people what they can or can't whatch. If someone desire to whatch sexualy explicit material on television it is their personnal choice and we shouldn't stop them from doing it. The goverment cannot simply impose it's on morality upon people. The law, in its current form, is nothing more than governmental overreach and we must cahnge it. -Rose Davies Minister of Educaiton and Culture |

Message | Mr. Speaker I find it rich that the NPP talk about government overreach when they are constantly attempting to expand the size of the Federal government and perpetuates the "nanny state" that Hutori has become under their " leadership. My counter question to the Minister is simple. Would she allow her children to watch this material if it was their desire? Richard LeClerc Senator for Groomsbridge Chairman of the Royalist Coalition of Hutori |
