This bill seeks to deregulate the software industry so that our software industry may grow. Article 1) All closed source software must be submitted to the the patent office for review. Article 2) Closed source software will be checked for patent infringement and malicious code. Article 3) Malicious code is to be defined but, not limited to any code that records a users actions without their express permission, causes damage to a person's property or life. Article 4) A closed source patent will be good for ten years and can be renewed three times. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, It is the intention of this bill to prevent malicious code and errors instead of being a reactionary response as is the current law. This law is currently projected to cut costs in the Ministry of Justice and in the corporate and private sectors significantly while only raising the cost of our patent office slightly in comparison.
