Bill: HNP: Taxation proposal
Details
Submitted by[?]: Hutorian National Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill proposes to change income taxes. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 4277
Description[?]:
Mr Speaker, This income taxation proposal has been drawn up by the Hutorian National Party in collaboration with the ministry of finance. This new policy will provide tax cuts for the vast majority of the Hutorian workers across the nation. We are fully aware that this will bring in around 10 billion HLR less than the current tax policy, however with a surplus of over 17 billion, it is completely affordable to reduce taxes with there being no rationality to have taxes at these current high levels. That is why we encourage coalition partners and others to support this proposal. |

Message | Mr. Speaker So why are we offering massive tax cuts to everyone except Hutori's lowest earners whom we are raising taxes for. Why aren't taxes being universally cut? Isabel Owen Senator for Fort Carter Federalist Finance Critic |

Message | Mr speaker, We understand Mrs Owens concerns. This proposal does indeed increase taxes for the lowest tax bracket. However, please note that we have taken many people out of tax all together. People may now earn an extra 2,500 HLR before having to pay the basic rate. As for those who may suffer from increased taxation, the answer I give them is this; The Hutorian Nationalists will always work to support those in most need. Anyone who is under financial pressure due to the passing of these proposals will be given support by the state.* *If this proposal is passed, then a further bill will be put forward. This will be a proposed new and reformed welfare state, and we will be providing detailed analysis and explanation of how low income earners will be supported by this government, Liam Morgan, HNP Senator & Minister of Finance |

Random fact: When you join the game, you will find yourself with only zero seats. That's because your party's representatives haven't been elected yet. You need to establish your party's position on issues by proposing several bills that your party wants passed and sending them to vote. This raises your visibility and if you do it enough, you will win seats at the next election. |

Their character, their habits, their appetites undergo a complete transformation when torn from their soil in field and forest. With human nature caged in a narrow space, whipped daily into submission, how can we speak of its potentialities?" - Emma Goldman |
