Bill: The Flag Act of 4284
Details
Submitted by[?]: Republican Centrist Alliance
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 4285
Description[?]:
We in The Republican Centrist Alliance propose to change our national flag to one that more appropriatly represents the Likatonian national spirit and ethos. Of Liberty, Equality and Brotherhood. . Therefore we belive that we need to change our flag from the old colonial slave holding flag that was given to us by our old colonial masters the Luthori Empire. We need a new flag that represents a new new era, a new begining and a new birth of freedom. A flag that represents our Republic and our People. A flag that truly represents the people`s goverment. A flag that represents our free and indepedndent nation of the Federal Republic of Likationa and nothing else "Out of many, one". |

From | Republican Centrist Alliance | To | Debating the The Flag Act of 4284 | Message | OCC: Its not a real world flag. And it is allowed to change the flag. Why else would it be an option as a bill? The Luthori Empire for one and several other nations have recently changed there flags by the way. |

From | Republican Centrist Alliance | To | Debating the The Flag Act of 4284 | Message | OCC: The only thing the proposed flag has in common with the real world flag is that both of them have the Republican tricolour pattern which is common in all nations that have a Republic as there goverment system. And the last time i checked we are a republic.

From | Republican Centrist Alliance | To | Debating the The Flag Act of 4284 | Message | Our current "flag" that was given to us from our colonial slave holding religious fundemantalist masters is beish with an animals head and a red star. How is that beautiful? Lets design our own flag by Likatonians for Likatonians. |

From | Republican Centrist Alliance | To | Debating the The Flag Act of 4284 | Message | The monarchy was reinstated later on and they keep the flag. So its a monarchist symbol. That is why we need a new flag that stands for a new era of liberty a new era of independence and a new birth of freedom. |

From | Republican Centrist Alliance | To | Debating the The Flag Act of 4284 | Message | OCC: Yes Likatonia is culturally protected as a American culture. So what? the flag has been changed several times over before. And my proposed flag is a republican flag, and so is America and Likatonia. So the new flags are not breaking the rules. If for example i proposed that the new flag would have a giant cross or an islamic half moon that would be in violation of the culturally protected claus because the USA is secular. So in conclusion this is not on breach of the culturally protected rules. |

From | Social Liberal Party | To | Debating the The Flag Act of 4284 | Message | OOC: Personally I find it unfair that you give arguments on the origin of the flag that you can't prove on which you base a strong argument for its change. I showed you the bills through which the flag was established, surfed around the bills passed at that time and found no mention to what you say - quite the contrary. Not even in between that time and the present. I request you either to find the reference or quit using the argument. I also beg other parties to withdraw their yes vote to this bill until the RCA explains why using the "slavery" reference, and based on what, just in case it's made up. |
