Bill: Minimum Age of Retirement

Details

Submitted by[?]: People's Revolutionary Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 4356

Description[?]:

"The Free State of Malivia" currently enforces that the minimum age of retirement for the citizens of Malivia to be at the age of sixty/60.

The People's Revolutionary Party proposes that the "Minimum Age of Retirement should be:

i) Reduced from "Sixty/60" to "Fifty-Five/55" years of age.

The People's Revolutionary Party deems the current "Minimum Age of Retirement" to be unethical considering that:

i) It prevents new and skilled unemployed working-class citizens from attaining employment within jobs that are occupied by individuals in-between the age of 56-60.

ii) It forces elderly citizens to fulfill average quotas, despite their physical or mental condition, in order to meet the minimum requirements towards receiving the benefits of retiring.

The People's Revolutionary Party proposes the amendment considering that:

i) It decreases the employment rate of the "Reserve Army of Labour"

ii) It increases the average citizen's purchasing power

iii) It provides elderly citizens in-between the ages of 56-60 with the ability to attain the benefits of retirement without being forced to labour within conditions that are deemed to be discomforting or unsafe within the workplace due to potential physical and mental disabilities that arise due to one's age.

iv) It out-competes the "Human Development Index" in the context of "Worker's Rights" of countless nation-states throughout the international community, which increases our reputation within the international community as a role-model for nations throughout the globe.

v) Increases the general human development, such as health and happiness, of "The Free State of Malivia's" elderly population by reducing stress, work-related injuries, and illnesses.
