| The Son of Heaven, who is the Supreme Ruler and Emperor of the State of Indrala and who reigns with the Mandate of Heaven, in recognition of his role as a symbol of the Jienist admiration of education has proposed the following, as interpreted by the Chief Secretary of the Imperial Household: A university, to be established in Yincheng, Jiaozhi, known as the Kyung-hee Imperial University. The University's focus will be on fine and performing arts, liberal arts and horticultural practices. The University shall operate under the motto, "For the Common Good," and prioritize the acceptance of women from low-income families. Residences will be provided to the students for free. Following negotiations with the Grand Assembly: The Imperial Household will personally contribute $1,000,000,000 and will cover all costs related to university residences; Indralan National Petroleum will donate $100,000,000; TQ Group will donate $66,000,000 and discounted construction costs. Indrala Fengyu will donate $14,000,000. The Ministry of Education will contribute $2,250,000,000 and manage all pursuant staffing, administration and related future costs. Thus the total confirmed capital investment shall be approximately $3.43b The Clans Lรผ and Cheng may offer further endowments for the establishment of STEM related-programs and a library, respectively. | Message | Mr. Speaker Should this university receive a charter, I would like to explore the possibility of providing a future endowment for the establishment of a technology-oriented school at the Princess Kyung-hee Imperial University, which would aim to bring more representation to women in STEM fields. This idea could either integrate or instead focus just on the currently proposed focus area in horticultural practices. As technology advances, new innovations are also emerging in this area and there is great opportunity for new discovery and research. | Message | Mr. Speaker, We agree with the New Dawn in that the promotion of science and technology should be placed first and foremost in building new universities. The IT industry of our nation has been booming and a STEM University or Polytechnic will further propel growth, and provide the talents companies desperately need. However, it is once again crucial to remind all of my colleagues in this chamber, that this Imperial House has no reason to exist. The money they so kindly chipped in, was only gained from the hard work of our people. Yet today, we have to honour such donations in their name. The money which the Imperial Household is endowing to the Princess Kyung-hee Imperial University ๐๐๐จ ๐ฃ๐ค๐ฉ been gained from taxes or through any utilization of state institutions. Recalling an edict ratified by this body in January 4344, the Imperial Household had a net-worth of approximately $255.4b prior to the Son of Heaven's ascension to the Dragon Throne. Through the family's privately-owned conglomerate, the Sun Group, the Imperial Household is directly responsible for having employed nearly 310,000 Indralans as of His Imperial Majesty's ascension to the Dragon Throne. | Message | Mr. Speaker, Distinguished Elected-Representatives of the Grand Assembly, While the Cheng Clan recognizes the importance of the growing technology and STEM industries within the State of Indrala, my family whole heartedly supports the idea of the "Princess Kyung-hee Imperial University", whether it has a school primarily focusing on these topics or not. Either way it will stand as a testament to the greatness of the Emperor's mother and a beacon shining for all Indralan women. Saying this, the Cheng Clan has a decided to make a sizable donation in support of this effort. We will be willing to fund the establishment of a massive culture and history library for the university, and are willing to pay for every step of its construction. | Message | Mr. Speaker, Chief Secretary, I, and the rest of party, are overjoyed to hear of the Sun Clan's commitment to furthering the education of Indrala's youth, especially those that come from low-income families. We are of course willing to support the imperial family in their task, and I have already begun attempting to create plans for how such a thing can be made possible. I for one, believe that its fine to currently limit the university to the more "traditional" liberal arts, performing arts, and horticulture, as it will still allow for the greater introduction of woman into fields such as science, mathematics, and politics. However, if a time comes when the "Princess Kyung-hee Imperial University" is willing to expand to other topics, my party will be willing to support them on their way. | Message | Mr. Speaker, As the party which re-established the national, public university program after decades of conservative and metzist mismanagement, I am overjoyed to rise today to support the construction of another great educational institution. As an Indralan, I feel fortunate to live under the rule of such a benevolent Emperor who cares not about his own family's glory but rather the glory of our national intellect. May the Emperor live and reign for ten thousand years! Finally, I find it unfortunate that it seems some will be voting against the free education of low-income women in this country to score a cheap political point. Surely we can all agree that the provision of education to our most disadvantaged in a noble endeavour no matter who has undertaken it. Jienshi once wrote that, โEducation breeds confidence. Confidence breeds hope. Hope breeds peace.โ Education is essential so that we can have a peaceful nation which benefits broadly all of humanity. I urge my colleagues to support this Imperial Edict.
