Bill: More freedom: Recognizing polygamy

Details

Submitted by[?]: Striving for Gaduridos [PAG]

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 4393

Description[?]:

As our citizens value civil rights tremendously, Striving for Gaduridos has decided to introduce a new bill. We would like to increase the freedom of our citizens by allowing polygamous relationships. We believe that the relationships between one another are determined by the citizens themselves. If all partners concerned in polygamous relationships give their consent for and are content with the relationship, there is no harm in allowing citizens to love freely. Therefore we propose the following:

CURRENT: The government does not recognise polygamous relationships.
PROPOSED: Polygamous marriages are accorded equal recognition to monogamous marriages.

MessageMr. President,

We strongly oppose this Bill, as this proposal goes against our national traditions and marriage laws. We do not see the benefits of this proposal, and would like to stress that Polygamy has dangerous implications in social affairs and the prospect of interbreeding. Having more partners will not be something that advances our country. We want to protect our citizens from the harmfull social conflicts coming from Poylgamy. We will vote against this Bill.

Random fact: Players consent to the reasonable and predictable consequences of the role-play they consent to. For example, players who role-play their characters as committing criminal offences should expect those characters to experience the predictable judicial consequences of that.
