| The Tianshun Emperor, who governs with the Mandate of Heaven, has declared the following: "Though there has been much discord in our civil society, let these conflicts never accelerate to armed combat. We live in a democratic society in which all people have the right and the duty to ensure their fair governance through voting. It is not the way of our people to fight each other in the name of ideology and politics! This is my decree! The loyalty expressed by many paramilitaries does not go unnoticed. However, it is against the central tenets of my life and of my rule to engage in violence. I ascended to the Dragon Throne through a non-violent, popular and democratic movement. Should I or any of my descends ever leave the throne, it shall be through non-violence as well, for this is the way of Jienism, and this is the way of the Dao! The nobler man fights his battles armed only with the truth and with the light of justice, not with guns and swords. I demand that those carrying weapons in the name of this dynasty to lower their arms. We Indralan people are born of one womb; we shalt not harm one another. Do not defy the will of Heaven!" | Message | Mr. Speaker, Fellow Indralans: For once, I will agree with an imperial decree - while the recent elections have changed Indralan politics dramatically, shame upon any Indralan who initiates physical aggression against another Indralan. There is currently increasing militarization by pro-monarchist militias in the Shu Province, and pro-monarchist elements have started setting up checkpoints across Jiaozhi. The Nationalist Republican Guard will only engage in defensive operations, to protect the rights of the ordinary Indralan people. Luckily, there have been no shots fired yet, but I've just left a meeting with Guard officials who say that some areas have seen tense relations. Additional Guard units have been sent into Shu and Jiaozhi, where pro-monarchist units have been most hostile to Republican citizens. If the royal household pushes pacifism, and popular movements, I ask that he, who is in Jiaozhi at the moment, with Shield Society protection, tell the Shield Society to dismantle their checkpoints. This attack on the right of movement that the Indralan people possess is done in his name, or, if this statement is in good faith, as I hope it is, done sullying his name - if he requests so, they will surely dismantle themselves, and Republicans and monarchists alike can move through with peace. | Message | To the Grand Assembly: I write in response to comments made by the Honourable Chairman of the Nationalist Democratic Party. The Son of Heaven is not in Jiaozhi currently. For security reasons the location of the Imperial Household will not be disclosed. This said, please understand that the "Shield Society" is not in any way sanctioned by the Imperial Household. Due to the tensions, allow me to reiterate: The Imperial Household has no relationship with the Shield Society. This group is acting under their own volition. The Emperor has made his wishes for peace, disarmament and stability very clear in this decree: any armed group organizing despite this edict is directly opposing the will of His Imperial Majesty, the Son of Heaven. The Son of Heaven agrees with the Honourable Chairman of the Nationalist Democratic Party when he proposes the resumption of free and unhindered movement across all parts of Indrala. The Son of Heaven, as a constitutional monarch supportive of liberal and open democracy cannot, and in his view should not, participate in any political debate. However, the Son of Heaven was unable to stand by as tensions mount domestically. Thus this decree was proclaimed. It brings the Son of Heaven tremendous satisfaction that the decree has been well received by both monarchists and republicans alike in the Grand Assembly. | Message | To the Grand Assembly: As the adopted 'father' of the Shield Society, I have influence within the paramilitary group that currently is prohibiting movement in Jiaozhi. While I do not have complete control, I will use all the power I have within the group to ensure they disband and return to their homes, I repeat, while I do not have COMPLETE control, I will do everything and anything I can. These men and women that are currently on the streets using their right to assemble militia-forces and proclaim their loyalty to the Emperor are some of the most devoted men and women I have ever seen, but they are also radical. I will try speak to them as they treat me as their 'leader', at least an unofficial one, but please, do not fire upon any paramilitaries, loyalist or republican under any circumstances. Do not, we cannot have bloodshed during such a crisis. To the Emperor, the Son of Heaven, the Dragon of Indrala. Please never think that I or my party would ever do such a thing to go against your wishes, I have served many years in the Imperial Army and I will not give up my devotion now by going against your words. | Message | To the Grand Assembly: I write in response to comments made by the Honourable Head of the Military Party, Mr. Xu Chunquan. The Son of Heaven observes the loyalty of His officers in the Imperial Army. The Son of Heaven thanks Mr. Xu for his devotion and service to the country and to the Dragon Throne. The Tianshun Emperor also understands the heartfelt convictions held by members of the Shield Society. Nonetheless, it is his Imperial Majesty's decree that all paramilitaries, regardless of political beliefs, stand down and deescalate tensions. Should the Shield Society not adhere to this decree they are defying the will of the Tianshun Emperor, and by extension, are defying the very will of Heaven. In this way, they cannot be considered loyalists. Remember, the era of the Emperor's reign is "Tianshun," or "Adherence to Heaven." The Son of Heaven would also like to express his appreciation to Leadership of the Shu Militia for unilaterally disarming itself in adherence to his Imperial decree (http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?p=135662#p135662). It is the Tianshun Emperor's sincere desire that the Shield Society and all other paramilitary forces follow suit. The Son of Heaven also agrees with Mr. Xu in that no paramilitary force should be fired upon. No Indralan should harm another Indralan.
