Message | Mr. Speaker, While education is a priority for Indralan families and youth, we must not over-stress our future generations. This bill aims to provide flexibility in education where necessary, allowing students to be home-schooled or drop out of school at 18. These policies will ensure that the youth can gain multiple pathways in life and liberalize the education system. On the other hand, universities and tertiary institutions will be held accountable. National standards will be set to keep all private, and currently unregulated, institutions up to par to make sure government subsidies are not misused on institutions that are failing our people. An independent agency will supervise such institutions and manage its related affairs. Finally, trust will be given to teachers across the nation. While the national public examination ISAT will remain, the national curriculum is proposed to be reduced to a framework for education across Indrala's Secondary and Primary Schools. A new framework will guarantee flexibility for teachers to teach according to each student's ability 因材施教, creating a more efficient education. For the good of Indrala's future, we urge all parties to vote For this momentous reform. Li Yixin Leader of PAP |
