Bill: Cabinet Proposal of June 4426

Details

Submitted by[?]: New Liberal Party of Hutori

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 4427

Description[?]:

This bill proposes a cabinet led by the Royalist Progressives and New Liberal Party with the support of the Scientian Enclave and the Ultrackian Socialist Party.

We believe that having President Greer and the Federalist Party in the Executive Mansion will provide a right-leaning force to balance out the left-ward impulses of the Ultrackian Socialist Party within the cabinet. Furthermore, despite the fact that a USPH minister will serve as Minister of Finance, the Progressive Royalists and New Liberals will attempt to pull the coalition to the centre on issues of fiscal policy. Lastly, the Scientian Enclave will lead with respect to policy areas related to transport, science, and technology.

MessageMr. Speaker,

This demands too much from us. We only ask that our present cabinet positions (science and agriculture) be preserved at this time if possible. Otherwise we only really desire the position of Ministry of Science and Technology.

MessageMr Speaker,

While this proposal likely won't pass, the Conservative Royalists will agree to vote in favour of a coalition with the parties included in this proposal. While we are not happy with the inclusion of the USPH, we can accept to it. I would also like to thank the honourable leader of the New Liberals for his confidence in me to take on the role of Government House Leader in this coalition.

MessageMr. Speaker,

We thank the Conservative Royalist Caucus for their support, but too recognize this cabinet coalition will not pass - due to concerns about overextension by the Scientian Enclave. We, therefore, have put forth a different proposal that respects the request of the Scientian Enclave which you may vote for here: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=576363&vote=yes

Many thanks to all who support this coalition.

Peter Knox
MP for Axminster South
Parliamentary Leader of the New Liberals
