Message | Mr Speaker I wish to raise the issue of the inability of the current Hutorian Armed Forces to use landmines. While I am no hawk militarily wise, we must be realistic in recognising that a large number of nations would not hesitate to use landmines against us in a war. In order for us to be equal to any potential foe, we must lax the current law which restricts the ability for our armed forces to use landmines. We believe that with restrictions in place, we can mitigate many of the risks landmines pose, meanwhile obtaining the benefits the use of landmines provide such as border security (in desolate areas where positioning a garrison would not be feasible). I hope other members on the floor of parliament will support this motion, and allow us to make our armed forces great again!. Message | Mr. Speaker, The MP for Dalry North clearly is not up to date on his military policy. The current law as written does allow landmine use restricted to the defense of permanent military installations. (See the BLAMERS Act of 4426 for more http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=576295). What restrictions would the gentleman from Dalry North want to add or take away? The New Liberals are opposed to the usage of landmines, period, but are proud of Russell Selwyn's signature legislation confining them to to military installations as the only viable policy in the current political environment. We will vote no on any bill that expands the use of landmines. Jim O'Neill MP for Acton Gardens Minister for Education and Culture Deputy Leader of the New Liberal Party |

Random fact: In order for a Cabinet bill to pass, more than half of the legislature must vote for it and all of the parties included in the proposed Cabinet must support it. If your nation has a Head of State who is also the Head of Government, then the party controlling this character must also vote for the bill, since the Head of Government is also a member of the Cabinet. If any of these requirements are not met, the bill will not pass. |
