Description[?]:
We made a mistake, the SDP in the past asked for elected mayors and it was a mistake, and for that we aploygise. We were wrong. We have come to realise that it is more democratic to have elected councils, elected counils will be more representive then just having all the power concentrated into the hands of one man, or woman, or goldfish. The people should have representation and the councils should represent the people, councils should be elected on a system of propotional representation, just like this fine insitution, the number of seats in the council the party should have should corrospond to the % of vote they get, power should not hinge on one man in one elections. The power in the council should rest with the people and that is only possible with the power rests with the council and the partys have seats in the council should be decided by the % of how many people have voted for them, so the power truely does lie with the people and how the people have voted |
