Bill: Luthori Commonwealth Government Consolidation

Details

Submitted by[?]: People's Opportunist Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 4487

Description[?]:

OOC: With the new system inevitably due to pass, and as a compromise with the Restoration Party, we call for the Lord President to be the only leading state figure (HOG/HOS) and to be responsible for forming the government. (This is to avoid having an minority held HOG and a majority held HOS making government policy in grid lock on the forums).

MessageOOC:I get not everyone may think this is fair - but this this is technically the most democratic option we have.

MessageOOC: The HOS get elected by the game's election system via 2 rounds (French system) - this allows the most democratically supported party to lead the government. However I am going to add a caveat to this: anyone who is Lord President will be ennobled at the rank of Esquire if they are not a nobleman already - as only nobles can hold the office.
