Bill: Cannabis Act, 4493

Details

Submitted by[?]: People's Party of Hutori

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 4494

Description[?]:

This Act will legalize the use of cannabis in order to decrease the profits of the black market and decrease the stigmas surrounding its use. That being said, rather than outright place a federal ban on smoking in public areas, we would turn this power over to provincial governments to oversee.

MessageMr. Speaker,

Although the consumers party is completely in favor of our citizen's right to use a non-dangerous drug like cannabis and we believe this right should be protected by the federal government, we can not support this bill because of its confusing, convoluted nature. Not that this is the only problem, but articles one and two seem entirely contradictory. Our caucus would support a revised version of this bill.
