Named after the National Conservative Party's spokesman for Health and Social Services, the Romily Act proposes to end government funding for abortions for pregnancies which don't threaten the life of the woman receiving the abortion. The money currently funding these non essential abortions will then be used for returned to and reallocated by the Ministry of Health and Social Services so that it may be used for more important purposes. 1. The government of the United Republic of Kalistan shall hereby only provide funding for abortions in the case that the life or health of the woman receiving the abortion is threatened by her pregnancy. 1a. The government will fully pay for any abortions which qualify for government funding. 2. In order for the government to provide funding for an abortion, a certified physician employed by the government must confirm that the life or health of the woman receiving the abortion is threatened by the pregnancy. 2a. If a woman receives medical care from a private physician and the physician believes that the life or health of the woman is threatened by her pregnancy, he/she must recommend the woman to a public physician for examination. |
