Message | We would normally be inclined to agree with the Conservatives’ argument here. But as we maintain reciprocal trade as a matter of national policy, and all signatory states were bound to maintain free trade with Kalistan, our national law would require that we keep exactly reciprocal trade with them as well. This is why we said thevtreaty was redundant: it mirrors what our national law already does. But if you see it more of a bind upon other nations rather than us, (we would be bound to free trade by our national law to all those who traded on those terms with us) the treaty could be seen as being in conformity with our own established national practice. |
