Message | Mr Speaker, Ignoring the authoritarian policies proposed here in articles 2 and 5, and the attack on jobs with the increase in corporate tax, the one part of this bill that is actually disgusting is article 3. Putting any tax on items that are essential is disgusting, but 20%?! The NDWP has crossed the line here Mr. Speaker. Before I take my seat, I must acknowledge every other party in this house. We may not all agree on a lot, but I am proud of each of them for standing together against this disgusting attack on Hutorians, especially Hutori's lowest earning citizens. Message | Mr speaker, It seems this house Is blinded by a desire to ensure the poor remain poor. We on the other hand are committed to investing in pubic services such as education to ensure our citizens have the skills to surpass poverty and achieve as far as their talents allow. This proposal of increasing tax on goods provides greater revenue for investment into such areas as well as preventing companies charging extortionate prices that such citizens cannot afford. This will allow us to eliminate poverty rather than settle for it which the opposition and NPP seem to be choosing. Harvey Maywood, Minister of Finance &. Deputy Secretary of the NDWP |

Message | Mr Speaker, I'll let the Minister correct me if I am wrong but is he suggesting that Hutorians cannot be trusted with their own money and thus the government must take it from them? Riley Pettipas MP for Prosperity Centre Leader of the Royal Conservative Party |

Message | Mr speaker, Yet again the conservatives have demonstrated a crude ability to twist the words of myself and my party. We are clear our aim is to allow people to move out of poverty and hence no longer rely on state support. However this can only be achieved through careful investment in education and services, to allow for better qualified citizens who can get better paid jobs. The problem is many in this country don't have enough money to spend and so it is our duty to support them and get them out of the mess of poverty. Harvey Maywood, Minister of Finance & Deputy Secretary of NDWP |

Message | Mr Speaker, So the Minister is saying that in order for people to get ahead, the government must take their money and decide how it should be spent for them. Mr. Speaker, I think the Minister just confirmed my initial assumption. Riley Pettipas MP for Prosperity Centre Leader of the Royal Conservative Party |
