Details

Submitted by[?]: Nebular Luthorian Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 4735

Description[?]:

After a current account surplus of 0.05% this economic year it is clear the government should be more careful with spending, Telephone lines are currently free of charge for all citizens, providing these services to everyone is a terrible way to distribute resources and most households do not use their telephone line.

Allowing private companies to begin providing phone services creates a whole new market and is highly productive efficient. The government have not minimised costs in this area and thus has led to huge diseconomies of scale.

This bill does however allow the government to regulate the price of phone lines in order to prevent monopolistic power.

MessageMr. Speaker,
This has always been a tradition in Luthori. We are a modern country and the state should pay for this because capitalist companies will only make it worse for out citizens.
