Voting deadline: May 4872

Description[?]:

Decree of the Senate on Nuclear Weapons

Citizens,

The Senate shall not mince its words when it comes to this matter. Selucia is a member of the Security Council and has the responsibility of upholding and promoting international law. We must therefore be the first to apply the provisions of international legislation as well. It is shameful and embarrassing that our nation has not yet ratified the International Agreement on Nuclear Non-Proliferation, and we have even been called out for it in the General Assembly.

The International Agreement on Nuclear Non-Proliferation reaffirms the provisions of Security Council Resolution 97, adopted with wide international support (http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=8883).

Under the terms of the resolution only Dorvik, Hutori, Vanuku and Yingdala may possess nuclear weaponry. As Selucia is committed to de-nuclearization and the ultimate abolition of nuclear warfare, we must show our commitment by ratifying this treaty. We urge all of you, Citizens of Selucia, to vote in favor of this ratification.

Why are these nations allowed to keep nuclear weaponry in the first place? If we are truly committed to de-nuclearization, we should seek it equally, not giving power to some nations to destroy others at any moment.
