Bill: Statement of Mark Pritchard, leader of the Liberal Party

Details

Submitted by[?]: Liberal Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 5023

Description[?]:

"We, the politicians, have not listened to the people. We wanted to change this country and transform it into a republic. But it was too fast and too brutal for the silent majority, still accustomed to our traditions.
We granted more rights to LGBT people, but again, we ignored the silent majority.
Now, the election results are very clear: we were wrong.
Considering the unquestionable result of "Three Weeks to Save the Empire", my party will support their cabinet because they promised not to raise taxes or nationalise large companies.
I made this choice because negotiating with communists and metzists fringe parties to preserve liberal democracy was not an option. They are not liberal, nor democrats.
Although we have great divergences of opinion with "Three Weeks to Save the Empire", our partners at least have the support of large parts of the population and won't destroy our economy.
That does not mean we will give up on our values. That means we will be pragmatic and respect the will of the people.
The Liberal Party bows to democracy."

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation.

Random quote: "The packaging for a microwavable 'microwave' dinner is programmed for a shelf life of maybe six months, a cook time of two minutes and a landfill dead-time of centuries." - David Wann
