Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The lyrics of the national anthem.
Old value:: None
Current:
Land of the Free by the people, We pledge to thy liberty! No tyrants here linger, despots must flee. This tranquil haven of democracy, the blood of our sires which hallows the sod, brought freedom from slavery and oppressionists. By the might of truth, no longer shall we be hewers of wood. Arise! Sons, daughters of the united and democratic ancestors, put on your armor, clear the land! Drive back the tyrants, let despots flee -Land of the Free by the people! Nature has blessed us with wealth untold. Our mountains and valleys where prairies roll; our fathers, mothers, valiant and bold drove back the invader- those of tyranny. |
Proposed:
BARITONE, QUARTET, AND CHORUS Joy, beautiful spark of the gods, Daughter of Elysium, We enter fire imbibed, Heavenly, thy sanctuary. Thy magic reunites those Whom stern custom has parted; All men will become brothers Under thy gentle wing. May he who has had the fortune To gain a true friend And he who has won a noble wife Join in our jubilation! Yes, even if he calls but one soul His own in all the world. But he who has failed in this Must steal away alone and in tears. All the world's creatures Draw joy from nature's breast; Both the good and the evil Follow her rose-strewn path. She gave us kisses and wine And a friend loyal unto death; She gave lust for life to the lowliest, And the Cherub stands before God. TENOR SOLO AND CHORUS Joyously, as his suns speed Through Heaven's glorious order, Hasten, Brothers, on your way, Exulting as a knight in victory. CHORUS Joy, beautiful spark of the gods, Daughter of Elysium, We enter fire imbibed, Heavenly, thy sanctuary. Be embraced, Millions! This kiss for all the world! Brothers!, above the starry canopy A loving father must dwell. Can you sense the Creator, world? Seek him above the starry canopy. Above the stars He must dwell. Be embraced, Millions! This kiss for all the world! Brothers!, above the starry canopy A loving father must dwell. Can you sense the Creator, world? Seek him above the starry canopy. Above the stars He must dwell. Joy, beautiful spark of the gods, Daughter of Elysium, We enter fire imbibed, Heavenly, thy sanctuary. Joy, daughter of Elysium Thy magic reunites those Whom stern custom has parted; All men will become brothers Under thy gentle wing. Be embraced, Millions! This kiss for all the world! Brothers!, above the starry canopy A loving father must dwell. Joy, beautiful spark of Gods!, Daughter of Elysium, Joy, beatiful spark of Gods!. (to the tune of beethovens 9th) |

Message | I dunno, I was thinking more "Rockin' all over the World" by Status Quo but if you want a serious one this'll do. |

Message | No, this bill was not previously passed, since it requires two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favour, a situation that was not accomplished on the last bill. The FSC will be voting against it. Quite frankly, we don't like the lyrics, because of its religious bias, and I'm annoyed that the anthem issue was not previously discussed among parties before putting it to vote. |

Message | But you never discuss things anyway! We (as a country) just sit and click yes or no. |

Message | Would anyone vote for "Rockin' all over the world" or is there no point me putting forward as a proposal? |

Message | One slight problem with this is that were gonna have to scrool down for ages to get to other bits of the main screen. |

Random fact: Players consent to the reasonable and predictable consequences of the role-play they consent to. For example, players who role-play their characters as committing criminal offences should expect those characters to experience the predictable judicial consequences of that. |
