Bill: Restoration of the Imperial Diet!

Details

Submitted by[?]: Ein Hunain 🧭

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 5291

Description[?]:

We, the Centre Party propose that by the next election we ought to reinstate the Imperial Diet. Members of Parliament elected in the next election will not take their seats in the House of Commons but instead in the Imperial Diet. This means that the total number of seats will also reach a more moderate and desirable 300.

We hope that this bill will pass unanimously and that we can agree to preserve this fine democratic institution.

Prime Minister, Evan Samuels (C)

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation.

Random quote: "Capitalism and communism stand at opposite poles. Their essential difference is this: the communist, seeing the rich man and his fine home, says: 'No man should have so much.' The capitalist, seeing the same thing, says: 'All men should have as much.'" - Phelps Adams
