Bill: Freedom of Travel Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Conservative Party of Hutori

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: August 5315

Description[?]:

In view of us having strongly considered this proposal, the Passport Office would still be obliged to perform cursory security checks to rule out fraud. The police would also have still the power to remove a crime suspect's passport if he is under investigation. However, passports must be issued on demand to those willing to pay a small amount of cash and wait a set amount to allow for processing. I think our new proposal is much fairer.

MessageMr. Speaker, the law is changed in such way that there is no substantial change.

OOC: Why change the game setting to replace it with basically the same thing?

MessageOOC: Do you know how to play this game? Fundamentally its about making your party electable by winning seats. This is achieved by aligning your party's policies with the desires of the in-game electorate, as seen on the Hutori nation page. The RP stuff is all secondary. NPP favours big government. I favor small government. They might favour proposals that are isolationist I might favour something thats more internationalist, etc. In this case I wish to make my party seem more internationalist and more liberal with regards to this policy, so I introduced it, with a view to making my party appear more internationalist and liberal with regards to civil liberties. If you have an issue with that, I suggest you go on the forum and submit a variable proposal, because my understanding of the the mechanics of the game, voting for or against this proposal will lead to a change in how the electorate perceive my party. This might be you are losing most elections and relying on your position as king maker in coalitions.

So you're literally admitting to keeping the same law for IC purposes but cheating the game mechanics. Nice.

You are annoying me now. You are really taking my in character rhetoric very personally How the hell am I cheating? Particracy as a game is very limited. Role play allows us to add depth to it. I have opted for a change in proposals. There is clear change. Its stated, if you read the proposals properly.

I am a new player and I might be wrong. However, I was under the impression that we have in-game mechanics where you attempt to construct a party that appeals to a computerized electorate. To make the game more interesting, we have the dimension of role play where we create characters and debate. This is all a secondary feature, otherwise the game would be very boring.

I didn't keep any law. I rarely venture on to the forums. I am not even a member and have advised you if you feel these proposals all sound similar then I suggest you go to on the subsection where you can volunteer variable changes for new proposals.
