| In 1 January 5320, Progressive Liberal Party leader Harvey Sunny and the deputy leaders Calvin Duncan and Marvin Orval went to Fort Williams for organizing a protest denouncing the attacks on republican and syndicalist organizations made by the security forces; initially, the protest was very small with an estimate of 70 participants; however, in 2 January 5320, the protest gained momentum and the participants increased into 1800. The protest denounced the attacks on republican and syndicalist organization under the cloak of national security; in 3 January 5320, the partipicants increased again into 4600 participants, which was an indication that the current government lost its popularity and opposition movements were gaining prominence. The slogans that were used in the protests were "Stop The Attacks, Restore Democracy!", "Do Not Fear; Resist And Defy!", "Republicanism And Syndicalism For Better Luthori!" and many other slogans; in 4 January 5320, the participants continued to increase, into 7800; and in 5 January, 15300. In 6 January 5320, the tensions between protesters and the police escalated; luckily, nobody was injured and tensions were relieved; the protest gained further prominence, to 28000 participants; in 7 January 5320, the protesters changed their slogans to "End To Tyranny, Start To Freedom!", "No to Monarchy, Yes to Republic!", "Not National Unity, But Societal Freedom!" and the protest gained further prominence, with an estimated participants of 35000. However, the protest started to lose momentum in 8 January 5320 and the participants started to decline; in 20 January 5320, the last protesters ended the protest. However, the defiance in the face of authoritarianism and the resistance to the government remains intact and the opposition parties continue to criticize the government; this protest may start a democratization wave in Luthori after a few months. Overall, the decline in the popularity of the government led to this protest and is likely to lead to other protests in the future. |
