Details
Submitted by[?]: National Progress Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 5335
Description[?]:
(This bill was proposed by the minister of Internal Affairs Nathalia Berthold) We should ban all foreign missionaries. This solution might seem extreme to some, but it is necessary. If it is clear that many missionaries have good intention, their presence often create division within our nation. Moreover, there is always the risk that some of these missionaries may have ulterior motives. They may use their position to spread radical ideas or influence vulnerable individuals. This can lead to the radicalization of some of our citizens and put the safety and security of our nation at risk. Provision: Article 1.1) This bill will make all act of Proselytisation by foreign missonaries illegal within it's border. Article 1.2) The term ''foreign missonaries'' shall be defined as an individual who doesn't permantly reside in Hutori that comes to Hutori for the purpose of proselytising. |

Proposal[?] to change Government policy concerning the visitation of foreign missionaries.

Message | Madam Speaker, Article 1.1 is extreme. Religious expression is an individual matter, not a matter of the state. If their beliefs are a significant threat to our national security, then such religious fundamentalists will be arrested, their schemes exposed, by our superb, world class intelligence service. Article 1.2 is equally scary. It means any foreign friends of ours can be branded foreign missionaries and banned from entering the country. This "purpose of proselytising" is so vague and a party with dictatorial aspirations may use it to impose a blanket ban. I urge our former coalition colleagues the liberal party as well as our friends in the CCA, whose rural strongholds are often deeply religious in nature, to reject this blatant attack on civil liberties. |

Random fact: Cultural Protocols should generally be reflective of RP conducted within the nation and should not significantly alter or modify the ethnic, religious or linguistic composition without considerable and reasonable role-play or other justification. |
