Message | Madam Speaker Our party believes in free trade, believe it to be crucial in preventing conflict, and will therefore be opposing this trade. Crucially, a thriving Hutorian economy pays for our world-class security services and military-industrial complex. We will be opposing this bill. |

Message | Madam Speaker, The intent of this bill is to have the option to impose these tariffs and quotas as sanctions on rogue nations that would cause international unrest and violence, and if they violate the territorial integrity of another nation. Free trade with those nations does nothing but aid and abet their illegal actions, and does nothing to prevent conflict. It is unfortunate that the Conservative Party does not realize this. This is one of few effective non-violent methods we have to deter countries from causing unrest and violence. Obviously we wouldn't needlessly damage our relationship with our allies and neighbors with these measures, but it is common sense to have them available to us. We urge the Conservative Party to reconsider. |
