Description[?]:
As you are all acutely aware, Bob Fortunato was killed in a coup attempt after he attacked the Presidential Palace with the intention of murdering incumbent President Tiana Hunter. Fortunato had long been a vocal critic of President Hunter and had been rallying against her policies for some time. He was a vocal proponent of the monarchy that had been overthrown in the revolution that created the Federal Republic of Hutori, and had been trying to bring back the old order. In a desperate attempt to seize power, Fortunato and a group of his supporters, the prescribed Ultranationalist organization stormed the Presidential Palace on the night of the coup. However, the security forces of the palace were able to repel the attack and Fortunato was killed in the process. President Hunter was unharmed in the attack and we are assured, she is fine albeit visibly shaken. The death of Bob Fortunato has also highlighted the dangers of attempting to overthrow a democratically elected government. The coup attempt has made it clear that any attempt to take power by force will be met with severe consequences. Since he was our former leader, who subjected our party to a criminal conspiracy and many of members were also killed alongside members of the Reform Party, whose headquarters was subject to a most violent massacre. We believe its wise that the Liberal Party take steps to govern the country alone. We will happily lend them our support in reversing some of the more extreme policies but do not consider it wise to be in government ourselves at the moment.
