Message | Mr. Speaker, We propose abolition of conscription for these reasons: First of all, we see the conscription as a variation of authoritarianism which dictates something upon the society. Nobody should be expected to sacrifice their everything, sometimes including life, for their nation. If people are expected to do so, then the already authoritarian concept of conscription will degenerate into totalitarianism. Secondly, we think that the conscription is not efficient nor effective. Armed forces of Luthori are enough to protect our nation, and we do not need else. Also, conscription needs various amendments to laws, which obstructs the legislative proceess. To sum up, we oppose conscription and see it as a flawed concept. Harvey Sunny, MID. |
