Bill: Reforming Keymon's Laws: Deregulation

Details

Submitted by[?]: Christian Democrats

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 2307

Description[?]:

"The Christian Democrats are embarking on continued progressive legislation in the name of establishing consistency in Keymon's laws. There are several legacy laws left over from the Progressive Capitalist era, and we will begin work in providing a more sane collection of laws. This will mean rolling back some of the excesses of the post-Progressive socialist faction, while also ending some of the excesses of the federalist faction of the Progressive era. To begin, we will deregulate the pension program and end the government fishing industry."

-- Director General Otto Keymon

Message"The Christian Democrats are operating from a classically liberal, progressive standpoint with regards to our current policies. We have realized that the smashmouth politics of the post-Progressive era resulted in many laws that are inherently unhealthy due to their extremism, and are promoting a middle ground. Instead of political ju-jitsu, we are pursuing positive politics for the people of Keymon. We believe a state-run pension system is part of the excesses of the socialist backlash, and while pensions are critical to a well-functioning society, it is not apparent to us that the state must run them. If the state runs them, taxes must be higher. If business runs them, wages must be lower. Pushing the burden back to business cuts out the state as the middle man."
