Description[?]:
Order of Christian Luthori Workers (OCLW) ---------------------------------------------------------- Founded May, 3094. The OCLW is a conglomeration of populist, socialist, Christian interest groups dedicated to the interests of the working Luthori man in the name of Christ. Platform: ------------ Flexible Currency: The maintenance of a gold standard currency in Luthori keeps prices unnaturally low and harms the farmers and workers of the Holy Empire for the benefit of the rich. The OCLW advocates a flexible currency which must absolutely not be tied to the gold standard. Progressive Taxation: The tax brackets currently apply across the board in Luthori despite the fact that the upper classes receive social benefits unheard of by the common man. The OCLW advocates a progressive income tax scheme which taxes based on income. The OCLW also advocates the elimination of the regressive essential goods sales tax, which harms the working class man far more thoroughly than the nobility. Equality: The OCLW advocates a government policy of equality under the law. This means support for a liberal amount of civil rights, a well-funded social welfare system which elevates the poor, and the eradication of Luthori's ancient stratified society. The OCLW holds this plank to be of the most Christian character, drawing evidence from the Beatitudes of Jesus Christ: "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they shall possess the earth. Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for justice, for they shall be satisfied. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure of heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are they who suffer persecution for justice sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." Party Leadership: ------------------------ Chair: Sheila White [3098 - Present] Assistant Chair: Aaron Eckman [3098 - Present] Legislative Lead: Jack Toughman [3094 - Present] Assistant Legislative Lead: Aaron Cole [3094 - Present] Luthori People's Church of Christ Liaison: Mary Tucker [3097 - Present] Historical Leadership: ------------------------------ #1 Adam Wing, Chair of the Order of Christian Luthori Workers, 3094 - 3098 Bio: Wing led the OCLW during the September Revolution and resigned his post as Chair with the failure of that movement prior to the outbreak of civil war. His resignation was based upon a poorly planned alignment with the unreliable Alliance parties, which led indirectly to the furtherance of tensions in the Holy Empire.
