Description[?]:
The Kundral Alderdi Jeltzalea (Lurrian Nationalist Party) was formed in August 5342 by politicians from the former Kundral Herri Alderdi (Lurrian Peoples Party) (http://classic.particracy.net/viewparty.php?partyid=45940). As with previous Lurrian nationalist parties it is split between moderate regionalists and those who favour more separatist policies. However, unlike previous Lurrian nationalist movements, the KAJ is more right-wing (see here for background to formation: http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=397&p=185923#p185923). In the first elections contested by KAJ they won 121 seats and emerged as the largest party in the National Assembly. Elected elements were dominated by Centrist Unionists (see Factions) and the party is likely to support a mix of conservative liberal positions with an emphasis on expanding some regional powers. ==Factions The KAJ has various factions, including (number reflect membership after 5344 election); - Agrarians (socially conservative and religious) - Support base largely rooted in rural areas - 40. - Centrists (conservative-liberal and capitalist) - Dominant pro-business wing - 55. - Social Democrats (centre-left) - Smallest sun-section but several prominent former KHA politicians have joined the party - 9. - Populist (anti-immigrant and isolationist) - small sub-section described as far-right - 11. - Other - various small factions - 6. As well as the above factions the party also has different strands of thought regarding the constitutional question. They can be summarised as; - Unionists - Are happy with the status quo - 57. - Regionalists - Support heightened devolution - 49. - Independentists - Wish to explore the options of an independent Lurrian country - 15. |
