Description[?]:
Fine Choiarlabhan is a significant centre-right party in Kirlawa. Generally classified as a liberal-conservative party, FC also has small Hosian Democrat and Nationalist factions. ==Formation Originally formed as the Páirtí Poblachtach (founded in May 5304 by several politicians committed to repealing the Commonwealth of Kirlawa Act (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=688112) and restoring the Republican constitution). As with the governing Sinn Daoine (http://classic.particracy.net/viewparty.php?partyid=45607), the Republican Party was a broad tent consisting of politicians from the left and the right of the political spectrum. Cynics would say the Republican Party consists of politicians who have either been expelled from Sinn Daoine or have a personal hatred of Sinn Daoine. However Fine Choiarlabhan was firmly a party of the centre-right. ==Coalition 5305-5307 The Republican Party entered the early elections called for April 5305 with insufficient national infrastructure to contests seats in all regions. Despite this the party secured one third of all votes case winning 53 Despite the opposition to Sinn Daoine, the Republican Party entered into a formal National Unity Government in April 5306 (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=688800) taking on the positions of Internal Affairs, Infrastructure and Transport, Food and Agriculture and the Environment and Tourism Ministries. However, government with the majority Sin Daoine was difficult, as most measures put forward by the Republican Party were defeated. During this period of time factions within the party began to emerge. The left of the Republican Party was largely side-lined with a pro-business faction dominating leadership positions. The party gradually began to become a centre-right party. ==Party Split 5307 Formation of Fine Choiarlabhan In August 5307 the Republican cabinet Ministers resigned from government positions after Sinn Daone had opposed all Republican legislation and threatened early elections. In September 5307 the left-wing of the party broke away to form the Tosaigh Coitianta na Choiarlabhan (http://classic.particracy.net/viewparty.php?partyid=42593). In November 5307 the remaining elements of the Republican Party reformed into Fine Choiarlabhan (Family of Kirlawa). ==Elections of 5310 In April 5310 the party leader James FitzGerald was elected Uachtarán, narrowly defeating the Sinn Daoine candidate with 53.9% of the vote. In elections to the Dáil the party emerged as the single largest party winning 68 of the 160 seats in the legislative body. Despite this, Sinn Daoine were able to form a governing coalition with Tosaigh Coitianta na Choiarlabhan and were excluded from power, further cementing the animosity between ==Membership of the Senate Reforms to the constitution introduced a Senate with a membership of 60. 49 members were selected by the parties in the Dáil and 11 by the Taoiseach. - Apr 5310 – 32/60 ==Factions As of 5304 the party is in the early stages of its development and is building a national support base and network of candidates and activists. Currently the party is united in its commitment to restoring the Republic and of opposing Sinn Daoine. Party policy on social and economic issues is still largely being discussed, but a coherent platform will be presented to the citizens at the next round of elections. By 5311 academics were able to reference four board factions within the party. - Liberals – The Liberals dominate Fine Choiarlabhan. The faction is socially and economically liberal and controls the party. - Conservatives – Broadly liberal on economic policy, the Conservatives maintain more traditional stances on social issues. - Hosian Democrats - Fine Choiarlabhan maintains a secular stance, but maintains a number of politicians that are favourable to policies benefiting the religious community in Kirlawa. - Nationalists – A small number of elected officials are openly nationalist and favour hard line policies on immigration. |

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation. |
