Description[?]:
President: Chad Williamson Chairman: Chad Williamson Vice President: Michael Denzil Whip: Robin Braddock Motto: "Workers of the World, Unite!" The Socialist Workers Party is a left-wing democratic socialist and social-democratic party that aims to establish socialism and equality in Barmenia via democratic means and common ownership of the means of production. The 4 principles of the SWP are, as follows: (1) equality, (2) freedom, (3) democracy, and (4) socialism. We accept all socialists (including communists), social-democrats, and even liberal capitalists. So long as one agrees with the first 3 principles of the SWP, they may join the party. Our beliefs are: -Economy + Common ownership of the means of productions + Workplace democracy + Democratic workers councils + No private property + Heavy environmental regulation + Prosecution of those who attempt to exploit the workers -Health + Free, universal healthcare + Only tenured, peer-reviewed doctors are allowed to operate in the country + Anyone found guilty of performing "quack" medicine should be forced to pay a fine and, if necessary, serve jail time for any harm caused. -Education + Free, mandatory, public education + Free, voluntary, universities + Private universities (whether for-profit or non-profit) are allowed--only on designated plots of land, however + Private religious institutions are not allowed + Religious homeschooling is allowed + Separation of church and state (no religious indoctrination in schools) -Civil Liberties + Freedom of speech, religion, press, and assembly + Freedom from the fears of old age and injury + Freedom from religion + Freedom from want + Pro-civil rights, pro-LGBT rights, pro-choice -Other + Climate change is a scientifically established fact, as such we must endeavor to protect the environment, no matter the monetary cost + Evolution is, too, a scientifically established fact, and the Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection the best explanation for the diversity of life on this planet. + Pro-stem cell research + Pro-scientific funding and education *The SWP is composed mostly of English-speaking immigrants who came to Barmenia for fear of persecution for their political beliefs. As such, few members speak the local language fluently or follow the tenets of Felinism, as well as not being conformed to the majority of the cultural norms of the country. |
