Description[?]:
Founded March 2894 by Alexander Cameron Bergiobyl, David Peet,Barack Smith, James Valopez, Steve Obama and other various community organizers and labour leaders who first met on International Worker's Day, May 1st 2893, and who were at first united by a movement headed by Clement Kinnock Hardie that seeked to lower the voting age and allow sympathy strikes. Later the five realized that they shared many other common political views. Together with many labour unions and organizations of citizens for a libertarian socialism they formed the Islands' Free Association of Workers and Labourers in October 2893 . They later reqruited the ever-powerful United Fisherperson's Union of Labour and the AEKI Democratic Worker's Council in their political party, due to their viability as powerful endorsements of a pro-union organizing in opposition to the governing Republicans. This group became the Worker's Political Committee on February 19 2894. Soon after they recruited Clement Hardie and made him General Secratary. On his advice they adopted their current name and became a registered political party less than a month later. With the original five as Co-Chairs the journey had started. The Alliance/Workers Party of the United Republic of Vorona is democratic socialist, social democratic, and trade union-endorsed. We seek to change that through direct, grassroots local democatic ways. We seek to establish a sizeable minimum income for all, civil rights and a better quality of life for all. We seek full employment and worker's control of the means of production, first through the government, then later through the hands of the people, all by themselves. Dont vote Right, vote correct Vote Left Vote for the Alliance/Worker's Party! Parliamentary Party Co-Leaders: Konradd Innglen, Pauolina Krag, Philip Ken'dy, Philippa Ken'dy, Fabio Tlenlla, Kara Belseiongton-all as of 2898 Speaker of A of the P: Liesa Kohln Anntllem-as of January 2903 Chief Whip: Gronn d' Frank -as of 2902 **Notice** As of the next elections, scheduled for May 2909, all seats will be apportioned with an open list approach, where voters rank candidates in order of preferance. Registered Members of our party: Approximately 1,000,000 The Workers Party had enjoyed a majority from May 2905 to August 2925 uninterrupted, a twenty year era marked by public takeover of industry, transparent populist politics, efficient governance, thriving economy and overall peace and stability. They lost to the right-wing extreme conservative libertarian Tea Party in a major upset. It was marked by relatively low turnout and increasing corporate money in the coffers of the Tea Party. As the main opposition, we hope to remain a stable progressive socialist voice to all who are courteous and intelligent enough to listen. In the aftermath of the August 2947 elections, which were moderately good for our party, the Central Council for the Workers Party accepted an offer from the Alliance for Progress, a non-electoral political organisation supporting and receiving support from cooperatives, unions, and environmental groups. It was an eco-socialist organisation with libertarian tendencies. Its chief goal was to shape the politics of Vorona. The offer was for a full merger of the two organisations. The Alliance and the Workers Party officially combined January 2948, under the banner Alliance/Workers Party. |
