Family First believes that the most important social institution is the family, and that family related issues should always be of utmost importance when considering legislation and policy. Family First supports socially conservative morality. Family First supports the traditional nuclear family unit. Family First supports small government, but recognizes that certain measures of intervention may be nessicary to ensure that our society is safe and morally just. Family First strives to protect and maintain traditional family values in our society. Family First believes in the sanctity of human life, and thus rejects abortion, euthanasia, and stem-cell research. Family First believes in a retributive justice system, and therefore supports three-strike sentancing and capital punishment. Family First strives to ensure that our society provides a safe environment for our nation's children to have a healthy upbringing. Family First does not recognize the marriage or civil union between two individuals of the same sex, and believes that marriage is a religiously sanctioned and sacred union between a man and a woman. Family First does not recognize the right of same-sex couples to receive IVF treatment. Family First believes that every family has the right to minimal taxation, and that the government should only have the right to tax as much as is absolutely nessicary. Family First views excessive budget surplus with just as much suspicion as budget deficits. Family First believes that the only fair system of tax is a flat-rate tax system. Family First supports liberal economic policies, the free market, and free trade. |
