Description[?]:
The New Rutanian Liberal Party is a branch of the former Great Liberal Party, a now defunct party whom never held presidency in Rutania. The great-grandson of their first leader, Mr. David Collins, is now in charge of the party, Mr. Tom Collins. Our platform and principles include: -Human rights, free and fair elections and multiparty-democracy, social justice, tolerance, social market economy, free trade, environmental sustainability and a strong sense of international solidarity -Tougher firearm laws, including a ban on handguns and semi-automatic rifles -Reducing wait times for medical treatments -Increased support and opportunities for seniors, immigrants and the aboriginal populations -Increased spending on military -Additional investment in research and higher education. -Democracy -Freedom -Positive liberty -Women's suffrage -Economic progressivism -Economic interventionism -Mixed economy -Social justice -Labor rights -Civil liberties -Feminism -Women's rights -Social welfare -Social progressivism -Ethical conservation -Efficiency Movement -Techno-progressivism The party also has strong environmentalist values – favoring renewable energy and commitments to deeper cuts in greenhouse gas emissions. As a great man once said: "a fair, free and open society, in which we seek to balance the fundamental values of liberty, equality and community, and in which no-one shall be enslaved by poverty, ignorance or conformity. We champion the freedom, dignity and well-being of individuals, we acknowledge and respect their right to freedom of conscience and their right to develop their talents to the full. We aim to disperse power, to foster diversity and to nurture creativity. We believe that the role of the state is to enable all citizens to attain these ideals, to contribute fully to their communities and to take part in the decisions which affect their lives." |
