Description[?]:
The Workers' Popular Alliance - WPA, or simply 'the Alliance' for short - is a far-left, marxist-leninist political party with a long and turbulent history in Hutori. ORIGINS The Alliance was formed as a result of disagreements within the HRF - the Hutori Revolutionary Front - a militant, far-left political organisation, which sought to overthrow the then authoritarian, right-wing paternalist government through violent revolution. As Hutori made a slow recovery and entered a period of re-democratisation as well as seeing the re institution of a parliamentary constitutional monarchy, voices within the HRF called for the movement to enter conventional politics as a proper political party. Many within the movement, including its founder and then-leader Martin Berthram, opposed this move as they refused to provide legitimacy to a political system they fundamentally opposed. This marked the split between the Revolutionaries - the HRF hardliners - and the Reformists - who would from then on take to naming themselves the Workers' Popular Alliance.
