Description[?]:
Formed August 3273 The Dorvische Partei exists as an attempt to combine rightist and leftist elements together ina single party in an attempt to create a grand party capable of governing alone. At its formation and in several subsequent elections, the DP was able to exploit the lack of left wing parties to secure the bulk of the left wing vote, whilst also exploiting strong right-wing nationalist support to emerge as the largest party in Dorvik. The DP was also able to secure Head of State election victories. =Party Factions= The DP has a clear dividing line between the radicals who focus on securing socialist economic reforms, and the conservatives, who are much more nationalist and focus on social issues. Although this worked well prior to strong election results between 3276 and 3284, at the 3287 general elections, much left-wing support was lost to the Socialist New Economy Party. This also included many candidates and elected officials who found themselves more at home in the progressive socialist party. As a result, after the 3287 election right-wing nationalist members, who were determined to seize back the initiative from the radicals and secure dominance within the party, formed the bulk of the party. =Leadership= Until her resignation in 3286, the DP was led by the businesswoman Samara von Jakuvs, who twice succeeded in being elected as President. However in the leadership elections of 2386 Hans Jarlgerfreicht, a noted radical within the party, succeeded in winning the Presidential nomination for the party and in the subsequent election became President of Dorvik. However at this election the DP lost much of its radical support and as a result Jarlgerfreicht’s support base within the party was destroyed. =Cabinet Positions= =History= |

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play". |
Random quote: "A proof is a proof. What kind of a proof? It's a proof. A proof is a proof. And when you have a good proof, it's because it's proven." - Jean Chretien (describing the level of proof about weapons of mass destruction that Canada required to join the Iraq War) |
