We do not seek to be on the left or right of the political spectrum. We are moderate in our goals and vision. Liberal Democrats support individual rights and equality under the law for all. Civil liberties are essential. Society and government must be open, transparent, and free. We recognize that liberty alone will not work. We believe in a government that empowers individuals to make their own choices in life, but provides security for the poor. We support equality of opportunity to increase social mobility, providing people from all backgrounds a chance.
