Description[?]:

The Nationales Bürgerforum (National Civic Forum) is a right-wing populist political party in Hulstria and Gao-Soto. While it tends to the right of the political divide, the NBF is not rigidly ideological and draws upon the best of varied ideological influences including libertarianism, conservatism and civic nationalism. Instead of adhering to strict ideological tenets, the primary considerations for the NBF are responding to the concerns of the ordinary Crownlander, and serving their interests through effective and pragmatic government policy. The NBF is also strongly supportive of grassroots democracy and political participation, as this means that government policy will serve the man and woman in the street, instead of vested interests and other political elites, and stands for greater devolution as proximity to the people allows government policy to be formulated and implemented more effectively.

Our leadership team (Note: This section is a work in progress.)
Parteivorsitzende: Edith Strötzel MdR
Frau Strötzel developed an early interest in politics and was active in Jungen Liberalen (Young Liberals) and the September Bewegung. She was elected Chairwoman of the JL in 3609, before becoming a LVP MdR at the 3611 general election at the young age of 26 and serving as a junior minister. Frau Strötzel's dissatisfaction with the weak leadership of the out-of-touch Ariane von Gehrfeld, and policy differences with her party, led her to leave the LVP. She became one of the founding members of the NBF and its first Parliamentary Leader. As a result of her strong performance and high name recognition, she was a frontrunner in the leadership election of 3626, and was, as expected, elected Party Chairwoman. As the leader of the second-largest party in the governing coalition, Frau Strötzel became Vize-Staatsminister and Minister for Internal Affairs in 3634.

Stellvertretende Vorsitzende: Kuniko Fujita MdR
Fujita-san, a citizen of Hilgar, followed his father into the legal profession but developed a passion for standing up against powerful interest groups, representing ordinary citizens for low fees or, occasionally, no fees at all. He was also politically active. Despite not having reached his thirties, Fujita-san racheted up a number of high-profile legal successes. At the age of 31, he was elected to the Reichstag in a 3620 by-election as an independent caucusing with the HDV, but decided several years later that the NBF was a better match for his principles. He became the party's first Secretary-General. After the death of Willi Schauer, Fujita-san was elected Deputy Chairman of the NBF. In 3634, he achieved his ambition of serving as Minister for Justice in the national Cabinet. He has used his ministerial authority to press for sentencing reform, sending a message that the government does not tolerate criminal behaviour.

Generalsekretär: Karl Hellwegge MdR
Born into a working-class family in Kuratha in 3683, Herr Hellwegge worked as a technician at a major communications company for a decade before entering politics in 3619 as a member of Solidarity along with his wife, Martha Hellwegge. They were both elected to the Reichstag in 3621, before defecting together to the NBF due to Solidarity's obsession with political correctness. Both of the Hellwegges have been outspoken informal leaders of the NBF's centrist members. In 3626, Herr Hellwegge was unsuccessful in his bid for the post of Parliamentary Leader, but, in 3629, succeeded on his second attempt after the incumbent, Anton Mutschler, was elected Secretary-General. In 3634, Herr Hellwegge was appointed Minister for Science and Technology as part of a four-way coalition agreement, and was also elected Secretary-General shortly thereafter. Three years later, he was promoted to Minister for Education and Culture. As Education Minister, Herr Hellwegge has pressed consistently for choice and higher standards in education because he believes that every young Crownlander deserves a world-class education.

Fraktionsvorsitzende: Edgar Mittermeier MdR
Herr Mittermeier has spent his entire life as a resident of Budenlar. He was born there in 3589 and, at the age of twenty-two, inherited a small business from his father. He had to fight larger businesses seeking to ruthlessly expand their market power in order to survive. Stung by the injustice of their far greater influence, Herr Mittermeier joined the National Association of Small Business and became a vocal campaigner for the interests of small businesses throughout the country. In 3624, he joined the NBF, and two years later, he was elected to the Budenlar Landtag. From 3627 to 3633, he was the Crownland Minister of Economics, and served briefly as Vize-Ministerpräsident. Herr Mittermeier moved to national politics in 3633 and continued his advocacy for small business as the NBF's spokesperson for economics. He was elected Parliamentary Leader in 3640.
