Description[?]:
The Party of Liberty and Socialism is a left-wing alliance of democratic socialists and social democrats dedicated to advancing democracy, secularism, freedom, and socialism. We believe that, to achieve for the worker the full value and worth of his labor, to eliminate exploitation, we should strive for common ownership of the means of production. We believe in the abolition of the police, nationalization of key industries, individual liberty and responsibility, and the absolute freedom of speech, religion, and the press. Our goal is a democratic, decentralized, socialist Selucian republic, where freedom and human dignity are given to all. LIBERTY, SOLIDARITY, SOCIALISM ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Political Position: Left-Wing Political Ideology: Democratic socialist, social democratic, secularist, republican Leaders: Aug. 4028-Pres.: Gn. Julius Fulvianus Factions: Liberty Socialist Caucus: the more libertarian and decentralist wing of the party; favors devolution, the abolition of the police, abolition of the Selucian intelligence agency, a volunteer military, and opposes the more stringent nationalization efforts of the other factions. Radical Caucus: the more leftist group, favors nationalisation, the abolition of the police, open borders, and republicanism. Currently in control of the party. New Socialists: the more centrist group, social-democratic in nature; generally ambivalent towards nationalisation, favors the maintenance of the police force, and wishes to maintain federal power. Favors a large welfare state, and appreciates worker's cooperatives, but has no inclination to mandate them. Many New Socialists also are constitutional monarchists instead of republicans. |
