"Egalité pour les Alduriens seuls"

===== Description =====
The Parti National Populiste also known by its abbreviation PNP, is a very old and presently communist political party operating in Alduria. The history of the party stretches very far back over 150 years. Leaders of the party who are also the Maréchal are referred to as Maréchal and Chairman (MAC).

The goal of our party is to promote the ideology of Rousseauvianism wherever it may be possible and to ensure the prolongation of our people and our culture.

===== History =====
The party was founded in 4287 by Maréchal and Chairman Henri Sébastien as the Parti National-Socialiste however after several electoral flops, it changed its name in 4292 to the Parti Nationaliste. The party would fail to gain any seats until the election of 4296 when the collapse of Les Conservateurs left a substantial power vacuum for two radical parties to fill the void: the far-right Parti Nationaliste (POFA) and the far-left Parti Révolutionaire (PR). Despite both of their victories, POFA manged to secure just over a 2/3rds victory essentially giving it unlimited power over the nation which it proceeded to use to drastically reform the nation's constitution as well as changing its name to État Aldurais (State of Alduria). By 4298 however, the nation had turned its back on POFA and the emergence of a new centre-left party, the Libéraux Ouvriers et Parti Vert (LOP), saw great support. The election saw the LOP taking over as the largest party with POFA close behind. But even worse was the title of head of state was won by the PR thus alienating POFA from the government.
The election of 4300 saw Henri Sebastian again re-elected Maréchal but POFA again failed to secure a parliamentary plurality just behind the LOP.
The election of 4302 saw a surge in new support for POFA and for the first time in 6 years, POFA regained its parliamentary plurality and won the election for Head of State but was unable to form a cabinet because of a coalition of leftist parties.
The election of May 4304 again saw an increase in support for POFA and the reelection of MAC Henri but the failure again to secure a parliamentary majority.
In November 4304, the Parti Reformiste collapsed causing the leftist coalition to be unable to form a cabinet. An election was called which saw the loss of the head of state election but another surge in support for POFA, giving it 44% of the seats in parliament.
The election of 4306 saw again the loss of the election for Head of State but a small uptick in support for POFA which gained 2 seats in parliament.
The election of 4308 saw a small loss for POFA but it again retained its parliamentary plurality.
The election of 4310 saw the last time POFA would gain seats in Alduria for the next 100 years. The party collapsed into disarray after the resignation of Henri Sébastien as party chairman. The party continued as a fragment under the leadership of Marc Rousseau but the vast majority of its members defected to the new up-and-coming Parti Patriotique Hosianste (PPH).
The party saw renewal under the infamous Thomas Rousseau winning the elections of 4450 and clamping down on opposition. This was followed by a massive stand-off in the General Assembly where Thomas Rousseau committed numerous international crimes and boycotted assembly attendance. Alduria left the Canrillaise Union and Thomas Rousseau conducted a genocide against the Majatrans of the country and many crimes against the Luthori living there. The party was defeated by a coalition, the country returned to democracy and Thomas Rousseau fled into exile but his legacy still remains as Alduria has no population of Majatrans currently living there. Following the exit of Thomas Rousseau, the party was renamed to Fierté but it returned to its old name the Parti Nationaliste in 4590 following the election of Stanis Rousseau (the great-great-great-grandson of Thomas Rousseau) to the party Chairmanship.

Update 4454:
Thomas Rousseau has won 3 consecutive elections and the Parti Nationaliste continues to rule over the nation of Alduria.

Update 4430:
A young up and coming Thomas Rousseau has taken over as party Chairman. Promising great reform as MAC Henry Sébastien once did, his popularity grows.

Party Chairmen:
Henri Sébastien (4287-4310) - Chairman and founder, for a short time leader
Marc Rousseau (4310-4343) - First of the Rousseau political dynasty
James Dubois (4343-4371)
Thomas Martin (4371-4401)
Joseph Andre (4401-4430)
Thomas Rousseau (4430-4456) - Great-great-grandson of Marc Rousseau
Timothée Toutain (acting) (4456) - Succeeded Thomas Rousseau
Jérémie Bullion (4456-4488) - First party chairman following the fall of Thomas Rousseau. Saw the decline of the party.
Edmond Leavitt (4488-4512)
Michel Boudier (4512-4538)
Rose Geffroy (4538-4574) - First female leader of the party
Raymond Soyer (4574-4590) - Assassinated as Party Chairman by a hitman linked to the Rousseauvian political dynasty
Stanis Rousseau (4590-4619) - Great-great-great-grandson of Thomas Rousseau, the family lived in exile for many years but they have finally been reallowed into the country. Was elected President for 5 terms but failed to achieve total control. Retired in his mansion in New Alduria.
Hannibal Brodeur (4619-4621) - Was appointed leader by Stanis Rousseau. Saw the liberalization and ultimately the rebranding of the party to the Parti National Collectiviste Populiste. He later turned out to be somewhat left leaning renaming the party to the Parti Communiste National but was ultimately impeached by the Party Convention in 4621
René Robineau (4621-present) - Wanting to keep the party out of the extreme ends of the spectrum, he rebranded it as the Parti National Populiste and managed to form a government with the Conservative National party.
