Description[?]:
___________________________ HISTORY ___________________________ The Social Democratic Party of Hulstria (SDP) was established on April 10th, 4693, after internal infighting in the Populist Conservative Party led to the party switching to the center-left side of the spectrum. The party was established in an attempt to push the PCP further away from the right and closer to a centrist role in government. ___________________________ IDEOLOGY ___________________________ The SDP’s members believes in a wide variety of ideals. However, the majority opinion is that of center-left liberalism, which mainly entails the creation of a social safety net, a fair tax system, and boosting representation of the working class. However, many in the party disagree on how these beliefs should be implemented and how views opposing the parties can be fought. However, through all differences, the party members and ideology will always be influenced by the Parties Leader, the Parteichef (English: Party Leader). The Parteichef is elected via a primary election by the parties members, which includes numerous candidates from numerous ideologies of the SDP. However, all members of the party must pledge to follow the will of the Parteichef and back the Parteichef ideals and proposals. Anyone refusing to back the Parteichef could face expulsion from the party. ___________________________ PARTY HIERARCHY AND STRUCTURE ___________________________ The SDP is made of several committees, each of which is headed by an appointee of the Parteichef. Those committees are as follows: The Committee of Public Affairs- The Committee of Public Affairs deals with publicity and the public image of the party and its members. The Committee of Regional Affairs- The Committee of Regional Affairs deals with the regional, instead of national, policies of the party. This committee mainly handles party issues on the regional level and appoints politicians in regions deemed appropriate. The Committee of National Affairs- The Committee of National Affairs deals with the national policies of the party. The committee is the largest committee, with 48 members filling its ranks. The Committee of International Affairs- The Committee of International Affairs deals with international relations and foreign policy of the party if it has not formed a government. The Committee will, and has the right to, negotiate with foreign governments and discuss issues relative to both nations diplomatic relations. The Committee of Military Affairs- The Committee of Military Affairs deals with military and paramilitary issues and policies of the party. The Committee of Military Affairs has the smallest number of members, at just 7. The Committee of Economic Affairs- The Committee of Economic Affairs deals with economic policies of the party and is one of the major committees in the party. The Committee of Economic Affairs is often headed directly by the Parteichef. ___________________________ CURRENT PARTY LEADERS ___________________________ Parteichef : Tillmann Weinberger (male) Head of the Committee of Public Affairs: Traute Schneider (female) Head of the Committee of Regional Affairs: Sato Moromao (male) Head of the Committee of National Affairs: Yamashina Horiuchi (male) Head of the Committee of International Affairs: Heddwyn Pembroke (male) Head of the Committee of Military Affairs: Augustin Guttenberg (male) Head of the Committee of Economic Affairs: Ekkehard Kaulen (male) |
