Message | And why exactly do we need to do this? Medical cannabis has a useful role as a pain-reducer. Given the general support of Beluzian political parties for a more open drug policy, this bill is rather out of the blue. |
Date | 09:34:02, August 18, 2005 CET | From | Conservative Party | To | Debating the Medicinal Cannibas Act |
Message | Cannibas is a gateway drug to the worst of social problems. We must invest more in proper technology, not dangerous drugs. |

Message | I must beg to differ. Cannabis has proven effective as a medicine, and we can therefore only consider this bill to be an ideological proposal that stands against reason and the medical expertise of doctors. Furthermore, the concept of 'gateway drug' has proven to be thoroughly flawed. |

Message | "gateway drug" is not flawed. Who was the last person you knew who started on heroin or cocaine as their first drug? Cannibas is nearly always the first... |

Message | I must confess that few members of my party hang out with cocain addicts. However, I'll ascribe this comment to the anecdotal natutre of most PAL arguments. Extensive research backs the notion that using Cannabis does not lead to using heavier drugs. There are nearly always other factors involved. Aditionally, suggesting that *medical* mariuana is an addictive substance is even more preposterous. I expect that the conservatives will be banning Morphine next? |

Message | We must ban this dangerous method. Surely we could better invest our spending into real medicines which better help the people, instead of these dangerous method's! Perhaps the Liberals have been spending a little too much time with their cocaine and heroin addict friends to realise this! |
