Date | 03:03:13, August 05, 2012 CET | From | Zardic Labour Party | To | Debating the Wartime Economy Act (#2), 3344 |
Message | Having discussed the matter with the National Executive Committee, which includes 17 elected delegates from our affiliated trade unions, the Labour caucus has agreed that it will abstain on this legislation on the understanding it will be repealed at the earliest possible date. We feel it would be unreasonable to expect us to vote for the legislation, as the CRP and NDP has done with our economic proposals, on the grounds that whereas they have been able to implement their agenda in peacetime for several decades now, we have not, and thus it would be unreasonable to expect us to vote against our own platform when we have never had the opportunity to implement it to any significant degree. |
