Message | Madam Speaker Firstly we applaud the support of the newly established reform party, who have yet to gain any seats but have made their views on the matter very clear outside today and on various other social media platforms. . Adoption should be a highly regulated process in Hutori, with the government taking a strong stance against the possibility of paedophilia, violence and other forms of abuse. Under this proposal, in order to be approved for adoption, applicants must pass a series of tests and follow an intensive program. This system is important to ensure that the children who are adopted are placed in safe and loving homes. The tests and program that applicants must pass are designed to ensure that they are both physically and mentally prepared to care for a child. Applicants must demonstrate their financial stability, prove that they are of good character, and complete a very simple but stringent psychological evaluation. They must also attend parenting classes and be willing to undergo regular home visits. All of these steps are designed to ensure that the adoptive parents are capable of providing a safe and loving environment for the child. I ask why our former government colleagues the Liberal Party and the NPP have voted against this proposal? |

Message | Madam Speaker, We would like to echo the comments from the Conservative Party, and ask why the other parties are against these common-sense measures that protect children that are up for adoption from unscrupulous persons that would seek to cause harm. |
