Description[?]:
The LHP values human rights above all. We believe that all policies should be in favour of enabling citizens to live their chosen lives uninterrupted and uninfluenced by the state unless absolutely necessary for the preservation of those rights. We believe that, since most knowledge is relative, people should be given the freedom to experience whatever lifestyle is most pleasing to themselves – free of judgement, so long as it doesn’t infringe upon those rights of others. We respect diversity, compassion, and development. We believe that, in general, if a person’s choice doesn’t negatively affect others, a person should be allowed to make that choice. In principle, this applies to freedoms of choice – whether for abortion, the right to die, or the personal consumption of drugs. We believe the freedom of choice to extend to lifestyle, including all applications of GLBT citizens. We believe in an interventionist market in order to defend citizens against exploitation, and to allow an equal playing field for new businesses and ideas. We’re inherently against military intervention of any kind, unless under extreme circumstances whereby our citizens risk losing their freedoms. |

Random fact: In cases where a party has no seat, the default presumption should be that the party is able to contribute to debates in the legislature due to one of its members winning a seat at a by-election. However, players may collectively improvise arrangements of their own to provide a satisfying explanation for how parties with no seats in the legislature can speak and vote there. |
Random quote: "Who are the militia? Are they not ourselves? Is it feared, then, that we shall turn our arms each man gainst his own bosom. Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birthright of an American...[T]he unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people." - Tenche Coxe |
