Description[?]:
Overview: We are a socially liberal, left-wing political party, dedicated to social democracy, the protection of human rights and the socio-economic equality of all people in this nation! We believe in the principles of a fair, social market economy, a government that helps the vulnerable with extensive social services and a party that dedicates itself to social democracy and liberalism in citizens' personal affairs. In terms of an overarching ideology, we may be described as a party of social liberalism, liberal democracy and democratic socialism. We support a social market economy with an extensive welfare system and regulations on corporations to ensure consumer protection, protection of workers' rights and environmental sustainability. In terms of party history, we were founded in August 3905 in Le Royaume Démocratique d'Alduria or the Democratic Kingdom of Alduria. We were founded by Évelyne Guillot (3875-), a lawyer at an LGBT legal advocacy group, who wanted to make a difference in the Aldurian political scene that was dominated by Les Conservateurs political party. She brought in Alain Sauveterre (3873-), a trade unionist in an Aldurian engineering firm, as well as Ghislaine Signoret (3881-), who was a long-time activist and writer for Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch. Together they founded the Front de Libération Sociale (FLS) or the Social Liberation Front, dedicated to equality, social liberalism and a fair social market economy. Electoral History: The party was founded in August 3905 and attempted to lobby and conduct nationwide campaigning across Alduria. The campaigining failed and the party performed very poorly in the 3906 elections. The FLS conducted nationwide research and realised that voters were suspicious of the inexperience of many FLS members. In response, our party decided to conduct campaigining that targeted focus groups such as disenfranscised Malvic minorities, women, low-income households and liberal-minded student activists. As a result, our party's performance improved significantly in the 3910 elections, forming an FLS government. Campaigning was especially successful in more liberal provinces, especially Nouvelle-Orange, where FLS activists found more support for the FLS left-wing ideology. The slight decline in FLS electoral fortunes in 3914 led to the creation of the "Central Strategy" by the FLS Central Committee, a strategy to abandon religious voters in Western states like Arcogne and Mondalat, appealing instead to socialistic and secularist views in 'liberal' Central provinces of Bendérie and Nouvelle-Orange. The overwhelming majority of FLS activists and lawyers are drawn from these two liberal provinces, especially Nouvelle-Orange. Party Positions: While the party has official positions and stances on a variety of issues, a few have been championed most strongly by us. We believe in the following ideas: - Stronger regulations on pollution in automobiles and industry - Banning domestic animal ownership and killing due to concerns of diseases and ecological imbalance - Legalising polygamous, incestuous and bestial sexual relations - Legalising abortion and providing free contraception - Striking down public nudity laws - Protecting the inalienable right to privacy for all citizens - Government ownership of key industries, including energy, public utilities and public transportation - Stronger labour regulations, including stronger unions, maximum wages for CEOs and maximum working hours - Higher taxes on corporations, luxury goods and the wealthy - A public education system that is free of charge and strongly regulated while banning exploitative charter schools - A universal healthcare system free for all with a national pension system for all retireees - A strict separation of church and state, including ending teacher-led prayers and banning public officials from wearing religious symbols on-duty while introducing a 'church tax' |

Random fact: Players who consent to a particular role-play by acknowledging it in their own role-play cannot then disown it or withdraw their consent from it. For example, if player A role-plays the assassination of player B's character, and player B then acknowledges the assassination in a news post, but then backtracks and insists the assassination did not happen, then he will be required under the rules to accept the validity of the assassination role-play. |
